Created on the occasion of MDF Italia’s 30th anniversary, the Principle of Lightness collection is a capsule collection that reproposes four excellent products from the history of MDF Italia in limited edition, with a finish in manually polished steel or aluminium, that freezes their essence, while giving them a new life.

Xavier Lust is a Belgian designer. Since 1990, he has been designing innovative public interiors, furniture, and accessories for leading companies in the industry. Founder of MDF Italia, Bruno Fattorini led the company from 1992 to 2013, when it was finally acquired by the Cassina family holding. In addition to redefining the company's strategy based on commercial and product policies, he guided the cultural and aesthetic reflection, focusing on specific lifestyles characterised by an evolution of minimalism and simplicity. The respect for the past and the rigour of forms are reflected in the MDF Italia collection he conceived, which includes the iconic Minima bookshelf, Honorable Mention at the Compasso d'Oro.

In 1991 he founded his own studio 'Piergiorgio Cazzaniga Design', building a rich portfolio of clients. The prestigious awards and mentions obtained attest to the excellence and innovation that distinguish his projects. His Tense tables, designed for MDF Italia, are among the best-selling products of the company, distinguished by their minimal and iconic design. Specialised in industrial product design and interior architecture, Michele Cazzaniga attended the prestigious Politecnico di Milano, where he graduated in Industrial Design. Over the years, he has collaborated with renowned design firms, creating significant projects. Together with Piergiorgio Cazzaniga, with whom he has worked closely since 1999, he designed the 'Tense' table collection for MDF Italia, icons of essentiality and functionality.
