Link 1 is a shelf that transcends traditional notions of pure aesthetics, combining functionality, simplicity, innovation, and design culture. With its clean and universal design, Link 1 seamlessly complements other pieces within the collection, meeting the needs of both living and sleeping areas. Its monomaterial finishes in wood or stone, as well as the monochromatic versions, make it equally perfect for contract environments. Link 1 is also available in an electrified version, equipped with a cable hole panel and a rear gap for the management and masking of cables.
Frame
Structure with load-bearing bracket (maximum capacity of 20 kg /m) made of steel powder-coated in aluminium grey.
Also available in electrified version, with cable management door and back interspace to make cables pass and be hidden.
Top made from medium-density fibreboard panels, coated with various finishes.
Solid surface
White solid surface, made of acrylic resin and rock minerals. Frame covered with a 3 mm thick sheet of resin.
Carbonised wood
Same characteristics as oak, but through a natural surface acid etching treatment, the distinctive “burning” appearance is achieved.
Reconstructed stone
Textured finish obtained from a blend of mineral powders that have been micronised and mixed with liquid acrylic and water-based products, giving it a material essence. The finishes are applied manually with a palette knife over the entire surface of the table, followed by a maturation process at room temperature. The material is subsequently protected with a water-based nanotechnological finish that makes the table sturdy and easy to clean. Top, edges and legs covered with the application of a thickness of about 1,5 mm of material.
Reconstructed stone note: visual irregularities, nuances, a lack of uniformity of both surface and material colour are deemed traits of value and uniqueness.
Finishes
Solid surface white 3 mm X035
Reconstructed stone Serena X084
Reconstructed stone white calce X131
Reconstructed stone black slate X132

"For MDF Italia, I designed products capable of making interiors more livable and welcoming. A further confirmation that the process of subtraction employed by the company has made the collections unique and always relevant."
Founder of MDF Italia, Bruno Fattorini led the company from 1992 to 2013, when it was finally acquired by the Cassina family holding. In addition to redefining the company's strategy based on commercial and product policies, he guided the cultural and aesthetic reflection, focusing on specific lifestyles characterised by an evolution of minimalism and simplicity. The respect for the past and the rigour of forms are reflected in the MDF Italia collection he conceived, which includes the iconic Minima bookshelf, Honorable Mention at the Compasso d'Oro.
