The Random bookcase, bestseller and timeless icon within MDF Italia's collection, has redefined the concept of the bookcase, transforming it from a functional storage unit into a design sculpture. Its elegant and sophisticated profile adds exclusivity to the environments, while its irregularly shelves give a sense of visual lightness, making the surrounding space dynamic. Available in 2C, 3C, and 5C variants, Random offers exceptional flexibility and versatility, effortlessly adapting to various styles thanks to its range of colour options. Its slim structure, only 25mm deep, allows the collection to fit into both expansive professional settings and compact domestic spaces.
Designed by Neuland Industriedesign, Random aims to communicate the personality of people. Its shelves are thought to hold not only books but also a variety of objects that, placed at different heights, tell the story of the inhabitants, making each bookcase truly unique. The version in Canaletto walnut showcases rich dark veins that enhance the natural beauty of the wood, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere into many spaces, from the living room to the dining area. This modular bookcase can be used as a standalone piece in smaller spaces or combined with other colour variants to create larger compositions.

Frame module 2C-3C-5C
Medium-density wood fibreboard panels in matt lacquered or canaletto walnut finish, 6 mm thick. Back panel in melamine-coated board or canaletto walnut, 10 mm thick. Shelves are fit into the backs through concealed dovetail slots. Compartments in standard sizes.
Adjustable feet up to 15 mm.
Note
For safety reasons, it is highly recommended to fix the unit to the wall. It is suggested not to fix the units horizontally.

Since 1997, Neuland Industriedesign has been offering services across various sectors, from furniture to cosmetics. The team, which includes Eva Paster and Michael Geldmacher, operates relying on the idea that design is a process aimed at discovering the essence of each product. A book on a shelf, for example, communicates its content and the desire to capture attention: in this way, the focus of the project shifts from the surface itself to the book placed on it. Following this philosophy, they designed the Random modular bookcase for MDF Italia, an iconic bestseller of the company.
