MIA at Triennale exhibition, protagonist of “rosae, rosarum, rosis” installation

On the XXI International Exhibition, from 22nd June to 31st July at Palazzo della Triennale, MIA armchair, designed by Francesco Bettoni, is the protagonist of the “rosae, rosarum, rosis” installation, curated by architect Paola Silvia Coronel.

The project, selected among many proposals taking part to the “call over 35” category of the contest, represents a possible solution that architect and University Professor Paola Silva Coronel proposes to respond to the theme of XXI Triennale, that is “21st century, Design after Design”. What about the future of Italian design?”

MIA armchair testifies how today digital technologies enable to develop unique pieces and to intervene on industrial products by customising them, through the use of décor as an hallmark. MIA armchair actually shows how simple cross-stitch embroidery, directly applied on the already packed lining, becomes the decorative element that, by modifying the product’s original DNA, makes it unique.
