Francesco Rota, interior and product designer, born in 1966 in Milan where he lives and works.
He graduated in product design at Art Center College of Design in 1994, La Tour de Peilz (Switzerland), he opens his own studio in 1998 and works in different fields of design: product, furniture, lighting, showrooms, offices, residential interiors and events.

Francesco Rota has been awarded with three honorable mentions for the Compasso d’Oro with ‘Add’, ‘Linea’ and ‘Island’, which are today in the Historical Collection of the ADI Compasso d’Oro Award, with three Special Mention for the German Design Award (by the German Design Council) with the products ‘Daydream’ (2014) and 'Kanji' (2016) designed for Paola Lenti and 'Add' (2016) for Lapalma, with a German Design Award Winner with 'Move' for Paola Lenti in 2016, with three Red Dot Awards with the products 'Add', 'Kanji' and 'Move' in 2016, with two Good Design Awards for the products 'Kanji' and 'Move' in 2016, with the Interior Design Best of the Year Awards 2014 with the product 'Cloud', with the MIAW, Muuuz International Design Award, in 2013 with the product ’Frame On’ and in 2014 with the product ’Smile’.
In 2013 he was finalist for the Wallpaper Judges’ Award in the section ‘Designer of the Year’.
He has taken part in several exhibitions held at:

Since May 2004 he has taught in the Master Research Study Program in Industrial Design at the Istituto Europeo di Design, in collaboration with Magis.
From 2013 he is the art director of Lapalma.
